I’ll be honest, the first time I heard about grilled lettuce I was not sure what to think about it! Cooked lettuce?! Like, what the what?
But I’m telling you, I’ve not only tried it, but I’m prepared to share it with you because it’s that good!
I’m all about cooking outside right now with summer suddenly arriving and our apartment being steaaamy and grilled lettuce is a great veggie alternative to steamed veg and salads! If you’ve got leftovers, try it in a wrap with mozzarella cheese.
The Stuff
- Romain lettuce (we did 2 heads)
- Drizzle of oil
- Salt & pepper to taste
- Optional: onion or garlic powder to taste
The Steps
- Slice the heads of Romain lettuce into halves or quarters
- Drizzle or brush with oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper
- Grill over medium-high heat for a 2-3 minutes on each side
