Even if you’ve never actually dieted, diet culture has shaped your relationship with food.

Diet culture is where we get the idea that sugar is bad and kale is good. Or the idea that pasta or bread or dessert is something that needs to either be earned to burned off. Or the idea that when we’re hungry we should try chugging a glass of water before we eat anything just in case.

None of this is actually true, and more than that it gets in the way of you fueling enough to support your climbing performance (and honestly keeps you from living your fullest life!).

But after decades of conditioning, it’s all we know.

Operating around food with a diet mindset comes just as naturally as breathing, but the good news is that it’s something you’ve learned over time. Which means it can be unlearned! It doesn’t happen over night and takes intention, practice, and heaps of compassion but it happens nonetheless.

When you heal your relationship with food, you are not only free to fuel without fear, guilt, and restriction, you’re free to live your fullest life!

  • You’re not worried about eating extra carbs to give you a boost before your climbing session.

  • You eat out without worrying about saving up calories or skipping breakfast the next day.

  • You eat as much as you want even on a rest day because you trust your hunger and fullness cues and know your body still needs fuel, especially when it’s recovering.

  • You enjoy birthdays, holidays, vacations and more without worry about food.
